FUDMA Digitalises Hostel Allocation System

 

The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has transitioned to a fully digital hostel application system for the 2025/2026 academic session. This move aims to ensure a seamless, transparent, and merit-based hostel accommodation allocation process for students.

Transition to Digital System

▪ Previous Inefficiencies: The former manual system was inefficient, requiring students to endure long queues and physical confrontations, causing stress for both students and staff. A semi-digital "first-come, first-served" basis was previously introduced.

▪ New System Benefits: The new digital system ensures fairness and eliminates favoritism by operating strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hostel Allocation Details

▪ Portal Opening: The hostel portal opened at 8:00 AM on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

▪ Booking Status: All on-campus spaces were fully booked by 9:00 AM on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Alternative Accommodations

▪ Despite the rapid booking of on-campus spaces, alternative accommodations are available at:

▪ Her Excellency Olusola Obada Hall (Isa Kaita)

▪ King Jaja Hostel (Hayin Gada)

▪ Olusola Obada Hall Facilities: This hall is equipped with modern facilities, including Wi-Fi, backup power, DSTV, and sports amenities like tennis and a football pitch. Free transportation to campus is also provided.

Postgraduate Hostel Allocation

▪ For the first time, FUDMA has allocated exclusive hostel spaces for postgraduate students:

▪ Registrar Hall for female postgraduate students.

▪ Yandaka Sada Hall (Abuja Road) for male postgraduate students.
