 FG Warns Against Fake “Schools Closure Circular” Circulating Online (2025/2026)

The Federal Ministry of Education has issued an official statement debunking a viral social media message claiming that all schools nationwide have been directed to close from 24th November 2025.

According to the Ministry, the circulating message is false, misleading, and did not originate from any of the following:

▪ The Federal Government
▪ The Federal Ministry of Education
▪ Any State Government
▪ Any State Ministry of Education
▪ Any recognised security agency

The Ministry emphasizes that no directive has been issued ordering the closure of schools for 2025/2026.

The public is strongly advised to rely only on verified information from official channels and to disregard any notice coming from unverified sources.

The Ministry further urges Nigerians to always verify authenticity before sharing information to curb the spread of misinformation.
