UMYU Takes Action on Examination Malpractice

The Senate of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, has approved disciplinary measures against students involved in examination misconduct. The decision was made during the 125th Regular Meeting held on July 23, 2025, following recommendations from the University Central Examination Misconduct Committee (UCEMC).

Outcomes of the Investigation

The university's investigation resulted in the following actions:

▪ 57 students were expelled from the university for their involvement in various forms of examination malpractice.

▪ 5 students were rusticated for two academic semesters (2024/2025 session), and their relevant exam papers were canceled.
