Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari Dies in London at 82

London, UK – July 13, 2025 – Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s former president, has died at the age of 82. He passed away on Sunday at a hospital in London, his spokesperson confirmed.

Garba Shehu, Buhari's spokesperson, announced the former president's demise on X, stating, "The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin."

Premium Times had previously reported that Mr. Buhari had been ailing for several weeks and was receiving treatment at the London hospital.
