All Candidates of Lagos State Origin who chose Lagos State University as First Choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination [UTME] and scored a minimum of 195 are hereby informed that the registration for Indigeneship Verification Exercise for the 2025/2026 Admission Exercise will commence from Monday, 26th May, 2025 and close on Thursday, 19th June, 2025 as scheduled below:


Phase 1: Monday, 26th May 2025 - Thursday, 29th May 2025

Phase 2: Monday, 2nd June 2025 - Thursday, 5th June 2025

Phase 3: Monday, 9th June 2025 - Thursday, 12th June 2025

Phase 4: Monday, 16th June 2025 - Thursday, 19th June 2025


The Verification Interview is scheduled to hold from Monday, 26th May, 2025 at the following venues:


Ikeja Division: Sociology Class, Opposite University Health Centre

Badagry Division: New TETFund Building, Faculty of Education

Ikorodu Division: Law Clinic, Faculty of Law

Lagos Division: International Business Class, MBA Building

Epe Division: School of Transport and Logistics


IIVC Revalidation

Candidates [Indigenes of Lagos State] who were screened and cleared by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee [IIVC] in 2023/2024 or 2024/2025 Academic Session and who have also chosen the Lagos State University for the 2025/2026 Academic Exercise need not register for the on-going indigeneship Verification Exercise.


Candidates are only required to pay required revalidation fees and revalidate their indigeneship Clearance Certificates online.


In case of Unsuccessful Revalidation, the following documents are to be sent:

  • Revalidation Report (Print Out)
  • 2025 UTME Registration Slip
  • Registration Slip of the applicable year.

Please Note: The List Below Is Based On Last Year’s Requirements And May Be Subject To Change

  • - Photocopy Of Applicant's Birth Certificate  
  • - Photocopy Of Father's Birth Certificate  
  • - Evidence Of Title To Landed Property (Preferably Long-Standing, Over 50 Years)  
  • - Written Testimony From The Relevant Oba Confirming Indigene Status  
  • - Written Testimony From The Secretary Of Your Local Government Area  
  • - Certificate Of Origin Issued By Your Local Government  
  • - Original Jamb Result  
  • - O’Level Result  
  • - Recent Passport Photograph
  • - IIVC Manual Form
  • - Online Registration Form Slip 
  • - Online Registration Payment Receipt 

General Information

  1. Please NOTE that ONLY Candidates who are of Lagos State Origin are eligible for screening. Candidates in this category are expected to be CLEARED by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee [IIVC] BEFORE participating in the online admission screening.
  2. All Direct Entry candidates who are of Lagos State origin are to participate in this Indigeneship Verification Exercise before they can be considered for admission
  3. The Indigeneship Verification Exercise does not guarantee or serve as a proof of an admission into the Lagos State University.


Key Notes

  • This verification exercise does not guarantee admission into LASU.
  • Only candidates of Lagos State origin are eligible and must be cleared by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC).
  • There will be no further screening exercises after the mop-up is completed.
