WAEC UPDATES 2026 RESULT CHECKER PINS PURCHASE METHOD

The West African Examinations Council (West African Examinations Council) has announced a significant update to how candidates for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will access their Result Checker PINs.

In a move aimed at improving examination administration and strengthening security, WAEC revealed that Result Checker PINs will no longer be printed on the traditional smart cards previously issued to candidates.

The new policy forms part of the Council’s transition from electronic attendance through smart cards to a biometric attendance system, a change expected to modernize examination management and make result access more efficient.

For years, WAEC candidates depended on smart cards containing serial numbers and Result Checker PINs to access their examination results online. However, the Council has now officially discontinued that method for the 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates.
