2025 WASSCE Results: Performance Analysis

According to a report by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the 2025 WASSCE results for nearly 1.9 million candidates across West Africa have been released with a notable drop in performance.

Key Highlights of the Results

▪ Performance Decline: There was a 33.8% drop in overall performance compared to the previous year. This decline has been attributed to regional insecurity and economic pressures.

▪ Credit Passes: Despite the drop, over 70% of the candidates achieved credit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

▪ Withheld Results: The results for approximately 215,000 candidates were withheld due to suspected examination irregularities.
