LAUTECH issues Notice on Extension of Night-reading Hours for Rain Semester Exams

LAUTECH's Olusegun Oke Library has extended night-reading hours to 5:30 AM daily during the Rain Semester Examinations to support student preparation and safety.

LAUTECH Library Night-Reading Extension: Key Details

The management of the Olusegun Oke Library at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has extended its night reading period.

Extension Details

▪️ The night reading period is now extended to 5:30 a.m. daily throughout the examination period.

▪️ This extension aims to support student preparation and reduce safety concerns associated with early-morning movement outside the campus.

Night Exit Protocol

▪️ A bell will ring at 5:15 a.m. daily to signal the end of night study.

▪️ All students are expected to vacate the library building by 5:30 a.m. without delay.

▪️ Students must comply fully with library staff and security personnel during this period.

Important Guidelines for All Users

Prohibited Items

▪️ Do not bring in contraband or food items. These attract rodents and other harmful predators, posing a threat to library collections and facilities.

No Electrical Equipment

▪️ Personal electrical devices such as rechargeable fans, power banks, or extension cords are strictly prohibited.

▪️ Such devices may disrupt the library’s lighting and power systems and pose fire and safety risks.

General Conduct

▪️ Maintain silence, cleanliness, and orderliness at all times.

▪️ Adhere to library rules and cooperate with staff and security officers on duty.

▪️ Respect the space and comfort of fellow readers.

The University Librarian, Prof. Adefunke Sarah Ebijuwa, encourages students to make responsible use of this extended opportunity and uphold the values of diligence, discipline, and respect.
