FUOYE Emerges 4th Most Preferred University Nationwide in 2025 UTME

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has been ranked as the 4th most preferred university nationwide by candidates in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This announcement was made at the recent JAMB Policy Meeting in Abuja.

FUOYE's Performance in 2025 UTME

According to official statistics released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), FUOYE attracted 52,108 applicants. This places the institution ahead of many older universities, solidifying its reputation as one of Nigeria's fastest-growing and most sought-after institutions.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Shittu, described this achievement as a "well-deserved validation of FUOYE’s relentless pursuit of academic excellence, student-centered policies, and dynamic leadership." He attributed FUOYE's rapid ascent to visionary planning and the collective commitment of staff and students.

National Ranking

FUOYE's remarkable performance positions it behind only:

▪ Lagos State University (LASU): 79,000 applicants

▪ University of Lagos (UNILAG): 58,645 applicants

▪ University of Ilorin (UNILORIN): 56,734 applicants

FUOYE ranked higher than other prestigious institutions such as UNIZIK, UI, UNN, UNIBEN, OAU, and FULAFIA.

The university aims to further its growth through strategic expansion in academic programs, enhanced digital learning capabilities, and sustained investment in research and innovation, with the goal of becoming a global academic powerhouse.
