ESUT Aggregate Score Calculation:

The formula is based on a 70:30 ratio, where 70% comes from the UTME score and 30% from the O’level results.

A. Ratio Breakdown:

• UTME score: 70% (0.7 multiplier)
• O’level subject score: 30% (0.3 multiplier)

C. Bonus for Single Sitting:

Single Sitting: Candidates who credit their four O’level subjects (used for calculation) in a single sitting receive a bonus of 10 points.

Two Sittings: No bonus for those who pass the subjects in two sittings.

D. Final Score Calculation Formula:

Final score = (Weighted UTME score) + (Weighted O’Level score)

Example Calculation:

A student scored 280 in JAMB and had O’Level results (e.g., English A1, Mathematics B3, Physics B3, Chemistry C5):

I. Single Sitting:

• Weighted JAMB score = 280 × 0.7 = 196
• Weighted O’Level score = (285 + 10) × 0.3 = 88.5
• Final score = 196 + 88.5 = 284.5

II. Two Sittings:

• Weighted JAMB score = 280 × 0.7 = 196
• Weighted O’Level score = (285 + 0) × 0.3 = 85.5
• Final score = 196 + 85.5 = 281.5

Note: The difference between the final screening scores of a candidate who credited his four subjects in a single sitting and the candidate who made it in two sittings is 3 (i.e. 284.5 – 281.5).

ESUT UTME Cut-off Marks:

• General Cut-off: 160
• Special Courses (Cut-off 200): Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Law, Radiography, Public Health, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Biomedical Engineering.

Special Note for Medicine:

For Medicine, you MUST have five (5) credits (A1-C6) at a SINGLE sitting, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Health Sciences.

Screening Process:

The screening is online. Candidates are NOT required to appear for Physical Screening or an Aptitude Test.

Note: ESUT's general UTME cut-off mark is 160

UTME Score (Max 400): Enter your five compulsory O'Level grades: (e.g. A1, B2, C4)

Only four subject grades from UTME and O'Level will be used for the aggregate calculation.
