Michael Okpara University Warns Against Fake Admission Advertisements

Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) has issued a strong warning to the public regarding unauthorized advertisements circulating on various social media platforms about admissions into the College of Management Sciences (COLMAS).

The university's management stated that it had been alerted to adverts inviting candidates who scored 150 and above in the UTME to apply for admission into programmes under COLMAS.

However, in an official statement, MOUAU disclaimed any association with the sponsors or authors of the advert, affirming that such individuals are not authorized by the university to make such announcements.

🔍 Official Clarifications from MOUAU:

The university deemed it necessary to clarify the following points for the general public and prospective students:

• The undergraduate programmes in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, Marketing, and Business Administration at MOUAU are now fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) — a fact that is already in the public domain.
• These programmes have also been listed in JAMB’s IBASS portal, confirming that the university is officially authorized to admit students into these programmes from the 2024/2025 academic session.
Qualified candidates seeking admission for the 2025/2026 session are free to change their institution or course on the JAMB portal to MOUAU in order to apply for the listed programmes.
• The process for such changes is available on the official JAMB portal.
No official cut-off marks have been announced by JAMB or the MOUAU Admissions Board for any of the programmes mentioned.

⚠️ University Disassociates From Fake Advert

The management has completely dissociated itself from the unauthorized advertisement and warned that any individual or group behind it is not recognized by the university and may be acting out of self-interest.

Prospective students and the general public are therefore strongly advised to rely only on official communication channels, particularly the university’s official website:
