JAMB Announces 2025 Mop-up Examinations

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has scheduled a mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for Saturday, June 28, 2025.

A total of 96,838 candidates are expected to participate in this exercise. This number includes:

  • 5,096 spill-over candidates and those who encountered biometric verification issues during the main UTME.
  • 91,742 candidates who were absent from either the main or resit examinations. This special dispensation is applicable only to the 2025 UTME.

Affected candidates are urged to commence printing their examination notification slips from Monday, June 23, 2025, to ascertain their specific examination centers, dates, and times. The examination will be held in 183 centers nationwide.

To check their center and print the notification slip, candidates should follow these steps:

  1. Visit the JAMB portal: Go to the official JAMB website, which is typically https://portal.jamb.gov.ng or a related domain like https://slipsprinting.jamb.gov.ng/PrintExaminationSlip.
  2. Look for the specific link: On the homepage, locate and click on the link titled "Print Supplementary Exam Slip" or "2025 UTME Slip Printing" or a similar notice/banner.
  3. Enter your details: You will be prompted to enter your JAMB Registration Number, Email Address, or Phone Number associated with your JAMB profile.
  4. Generate/Print the slip: After entering your details, click on the "Print Examination Slip" or "Get Slip" button. Your slip will then appear on the screen, clearly displaying your:
    • New examination date
    • Time of the examination
    • Assigned examination center and its address
  5. Print copies: Once the slip is displayed, you can press CTRL + P on your keyboard (or tap the print icon on your device) to print the slip. It is highly advised to print at least two (2) copies – one for your use and one as a backup.
  6. Verify information: Immediately verify all the information on the printed slip to ensure there are no mistakes.

Helpful Tips:

  • If the portal is slow due to high traffic, try accessing it during off-peak hours (early mornings or late evenings).
  • If you face challenges printing by yourself, you can also visit an accredited CBT center for assistance.

In a move to uphold the integrity of its examinations, JAMB has suspended or delisted 113 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the country. These centers were found guilty of various infractions, including technical deficiencies and involvement in ongoing security investigations into examination malpractice. Investigations into these centers are ongoing, and culpable parties will face prosecution.

JAMB acknowledged the significant efforts of security agencies, including the State Security Service (SSS), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in unraveling identity theft and examination fraud. These investigations have led to the arrest and prosecution of several culprits, including some JAMB officials, professional examination takers, and syndicates involving school proprietors and tutorial centers.

As a result of these investigations, certain examination towns have been deactivated from hosting the mop-up exam. Candidates initially assigned to these towns will be reassigned to the nearest available examination centers, and their understanding is sought by JAMB.

The Board also reiterated its commitment to cracking down on impersonation, particularly by undergraduate students. Institutions of apprehended undergraduates will be notified, and these students may face expulsion for violating their matriculation oath, in addition to prosecution under the Examination Malpractice Act of 1999.

Special squads of invigilators and security personnel will be deployed to monitor the mop-up examination as part of a renewed effort to combat malpractice. Candidates for the 8:00 AM session are advised to arrive one to one and a half hours before the examination commencement. JAMB will ensure strict supervision to maintain transparency and fairness during the mop-up examination.
