FG Declares June 6 & 9 Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Adha 2025

 

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, June 6 and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Monday on behalf of the government.

A Message to the Muslim Ummah

The minister extended warm congratulations to all Muslims in Nigeria and the Diaspora, urging them to uphold the values of

● Sacrifice

● Obedience

● Faith

— as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him).

A Call for National Unity

Tunji-Ojo also encouraged Nigerians to use the Eid period to:

● Pray for peace

● Promote unity

● Work toward national prosperity
