All Candidates of Lagos State Origin who chose Lagos State University as First Choice in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination [UTME] and scored a minimum of 195 are hereby informed that the registration for Indigeneship Verification Exercise for the 2026/2027 Admission Exercise will commence from Monday, 27th April and runs from Monday, 27th April to Friday, 22nd May 2026, as scheduled below:

Registration Phases

Mon 27 April – Thu 30 April 2026

▪ Phase 2
Mon 4 May – Thu 7 May 2025

▪ Phase 3
Mon 11 May – Thu 14 May 2026

▪ Phase 4
Mon 18 May – Fri 22 May 2026

Verification Interview Locations

The Verification Interview is scheduled to hold from Monday, 26th May, 2026 at the following venues:

▪ Ikeja Division
New TETFund Building, Faculty of Arts

▪ Badagry Division
New TETFund Building, Faculty of Education

▪ Ikorodu Division
Law Clinic, Faculty of Law

▪ Lagos Division
International Business Class, MBA Building

▪ Epe Division
School of Transport and Logistics

Application Instructions

Follow the three steps below to complete your Indigeneship Verification registration.

▪ Apply
Supply your JAMB Registration Number and other required details to begin your application. Candidates for Revalidation need not apply again.

Pay online using a valid JAMB registration number. Select the payment description: INDIGENESHIP VERIFICATION FEES.

After a successful application and payment, supply your JAMB Registration Number to view and print your completed application form.

IIVC Revalidation

Candidates of Lagos State origin who were screened and cleared by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) in the 2024/2025 or 2025/2026 Academic Session and who have also chosen LASU for 2026/2027 need not register for the ongoing exercise.

Candidates are only required to pay the revalidation fee and revalidate their Indigeneship Clearance Certificates online.

▪ 2026 UTME Registration Slip
▪ Registration Slip of the Applicable Year

Already Cleared?

If you were previously verified and cleared by the IIVC in 2024/2025 or 2025/2026, you do not need to re-register. Simply pay the revalidation fee and confirm your status online.

▪ Evidence of Title to Landed Property (Preferably Long-Standing, Over 50 Years)
▪ Written Testimony from the Relevant Oba Confirming Indigene Status
▪ Written Testimony from the Secretary of Your Local Government Area
▪ Certificate of Origin Issued by Your Local Government
▪ Original JAMB Result
▪ O’Level Result
▪ Recent Passport Photograph
▪ IIVC Manual Form
▪ Online Registration Form Slip
▪ Online Registration Payment Receipt

▪ Please NOTE that ONLY Candidates who are of Lagos State Origin are eligible for screening
▪ Candidates in this category are expected to be CLEARED by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee [IIVC] BEFORE participating in the online admission screening
▪ All Direct Entry candidates who are of Lagos State origin are to participate in this Indigeneship Verification Exercise before they can be considered for admission
▪ The Indigeneship Verification Exercise does not guarantee or serve as a proof of an admission into Lagos State University

▪ This verification exercise does not guarantee admission into LASU
▪ Only candidates of Lagos State origin are eligible and must be cleared by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC)
▪ There will be no further screening exercises after the mop-up is completed
