UNIMAID Warns Against Fraudulent Admission Payment Scams

UNIMAID Disclaimer Notice on Fraudulent Admission Payment Messages Targeting Admission Seekers.

The management of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has issued an important public notice warning applicants and the general public against fraudulent admission payment messages currently circulating online.

It has come to the attention of the University that certain individuals are sending fake messages requesting unsuspecting members of the public to make payments for admission into the University.

The fraudulent message, which demands payment of a supposed ₦15,000 “catchment fee” through the website payunimmaid.com, and falsely claims to originate from the College of Medical Science Admission Committee, is FAKE.
The University of Maiduguri has no affiliation whatsoever with this website or its operators.

Important Disclaimer:

Members of the public are hereby informed and advised that:

The University does not request applicants to make any admission-related payments to private or unverified accounts or websites.
All official admission information is communicated solely through the University’s official website and other recognized channels.
Anyone who engages in transactions with these fraudsters does so entirely at their own risk.
▪ The University of Maiduguri will not be held responsible for any financial loss arising from such fraudulent dealings.

Official Communication

All genuine information regarding admission, registration, and payments should only be obtained from the official UNIMAID website and verified University contacts.
