OAU Challenges Post-UTME Notice Validity Due to Outdated Legal Seal

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Legal Unit has officially responded to a pre-action notice issued by a law firm against the University over alleged irregularities in the Post-UTME process.

In a letter dated October 4, 2025, the University’s Legal Unit pointed out that the lawyer’s correspondence bore a 2024 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) seal, indicating that he has not renewed his practising licence for 2025.

The University therefore requested that the lawyer establish his current right to practice in accordance with professional regulations before the correspondence can be considered valid.

Simply put, OAU’s Legal Unit is challenging the validity of the pre-action notice until all necessary legal requirements are duly fulfilled.
