Northwest University (NWU) formerly Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano (YMSUK) Post UTME Form for 2026/2027 Academic Session is still on sale. Cut-off mark is 150-240. The closing date has been extended till Sunday, 6 September 2026.

This is to inform the general public that the Northwest University (NWU) formerly called Yusuf Maitama Sule University (YMSU) Post UTME and Direct Entry (DE) Form for the 2026/2027 academic session is still on sale.

LATEST UPDATE: ANNOUNCEMENT: EXTENSION OF POST-UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY REGISTRATION

The Management of Northwest University Kano wishes to inform the general public, particularly prospective candidates, that the deadline for the Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) registration for the 2026/2027 Academic Session has been extended to Sunday, 6 September 2026.

The extension is intended to provide prospective candidates who are yet to complete their registration or process their Change of Course should visit the university’s website www.nwu.edu.ng with an additional opportunity to do so within the stipulated period.

Management therefore encourages all eligible candidates who are yet to take advantage of these opportunities to utilize the extension and complete their registration or Change of Course process on or before Sunday, 6 September 2026.

ELIGIBILITY:

UTME Candidates must have:

▪ 1. Chosen Northwest University, Kano as first choice

▪ 2. Obtained a minimum of Five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics in SSCE (or Equivalent) in not more than two sittings for both UTME and Direct Entry Candidates

▪ 3. Scored a minimum tolerable points for the programme applied as stated:

DIRECT ENTRY (DE):

Candidates must have:

▪ 1. Possess 2026 Direct Entry (DE) Online Registration Slip.

▪ 2. Have obtained either National Diploma (ND), IJMB or NCE.

▪ 3. Have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for Science-based and 3.5 for Art-Based programmes.

▪ 4. Have a minimum of 9 points in NCE.

▪ 5. Have a minimum of 7 points in Science-Based and 8 points in Art and Social Science-Based IJMB programmes.

CANDIDATES ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR NWU POST UTME FORM

UTME CANDIDATES

▪ Candidates must have chosen the Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano as FIRST choice.

▪ Must have obtained a minimum of 5 Credit Passes including English Language and Mathematics in SSCE (or Equivalent) at not more than two sittings.

▪ Must have scored a minimum of 150-240 depending on the course they apply for. See the NWU Cut-off mark below.

▪ Candidates awaiting their O’level result can apply but must choose AR as their grade when registering for the post utme.

▪ Must posses 2026 UTME Result.

DIRECT ENTRY (DE) CANDIDATES

▪ Must have applied for Direct Entry (DE), through JAMB.

▪ Must have obtained a minimum of 5 Credit Passes including English Language and Mathematics in SSCE (or Equivalent) at not more than two sittings.

▪ Must have obtained the National Diploma (ND), IJMB, NCE (or equivalent) certificate or statement of result.

▪ Candidates with ND must have minimum CGPA of 3.0 for Science based programmes and 3.5 for Arts based programmes respectively.

▪ Candidates with N.C.E. must have minimum of 9 points for relevant programmes in the Faculty of Education.

▪ Candidates with IJMB must have minimum of 7 points for Sciences and 8 points for Arts based programmes respectively.

HOW TO APPLY FOR NWU POST UTME FORM

The official cost for the Yusuf Maitama Sule University post utme form is Two Thousand Naira Only (N2,000).

Candidates wishing to register for UTME screening or the DE Screening should visit the University’s WEBSITE (www.nwu.edu.ng) and click on 2026 ADMISSION PORTAL”.

Candidates should then generate NABROLL payment invoice from the portal and make online payment or proceed to any Bank Nationwide to make payment for the sum of TWO THOUSAND NAIRA (2,000) only as the Screening Charges.

Candidates should return to the Portal to complete the registration and print Acknowledgment Slip to be presented together with other credentials during the Aptitude Test or Direct Entry Screening.

SOME OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

▪ Any candidate who wishes to change his choice of Institution or programme using JAMB Green Card must do so before midnight of 9th August, 2026.

▪ Candidates must upload their credentials on their JAMB E-Facility.

▪ Any candidate who fails to register within the stipulated period will not be considered for admission into the University for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

▪ Candidates must make sure they register with the correet grades on their SSCE results, Any disparity will lead to cancellation of the admission, at the point of screening.
