The University of Uyo invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its One-Year Basic Studies Programme and One-Year Pre-Degree Programme for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

A. BASIC STUDIES PROGRAMME

The University of Uyo, in collaboration with the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), invites qualified candidates for admission into the One-Year Basic Studies Programme.

This programme prepares students for JUPEB examinations. Candidates who pass the examination and meet the admission requirements for their chosen courses will be admitted directly into 200 Level through Direct Entry.

Candidates who pass the JUPEB examination but do not meet the admission requirements for their preferred course may be admitted into other available courses.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR BASIC STUDIES

▪ Minimum of five O’Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and any three relevant subjects.

▪ Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings in SSCE, WASSCE, GCE O’Level, NECO or NABTEB.

▪ Admission into the programme is through a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

▪ JAMB score is not required for admission into this programme.

▪ Candidates for the 2026 UTME can also apply.

B. PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME

The University of Uyo also invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its One-Year Pre-Degree Programme for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

The programme prepares candidates for the UTME.

Successful candidates who meet the JAMB cut-off and admission requirements will be admitted into 100 Level.

Candidates who do not meet the required JAMB cut-off but score up to 160 and pass the University’s internal examinations may also be considered for admission into available programmes.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR PRE-DEGREE

▪ Admission is through Computer-Based Test (CBT).

▪ Candidates must possess at least five O’Level credit passes including:
▪ English Language
▪ Mathematics
▪ Physics
▪ Chemistry
▪ Biology

▪ Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB.

▪ Agricultural Science may be accepted in place of Biology for Agriculture and Agricultural Education candidates only.

▪ JAMB score is not required for admission into this programme.

MAJOR COURSE REQUIREMENTS

▪ All successful candidates will be required to register for UTME.

▪ Candidates must obtain a minimum score of 180 in the relevant UTME subject combination.

2. PAY APPLICATION FEE

▪ Log in and open the Application Fee section
▪ Select application type (Basic Studies or Pre-Degree)
▪ Generate your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR)
▪ Pay online or at any bank using the RRR
▪ Return to the portal to confirm payment

3. COMPLETE APPLICATION

▪ Go to Application Form
▪ Click Start New Application
▪ Fill in the required details
▪ Upload required PDF documents
▪ Submit application

4. PRINT SCREENING SLIP

IMPORTANT NOTES

▪ The same passport photograph used during online registration will be used during the screening exercise and after admission.

▪ No complaints of wrong biodata or blank photographs will be entertained after submission.

▪ Candidates who upload wrong biodata will automatically be disqualified.

▪ The same procedure is used for payment of all fees after admission.
