UNILAG Launches Posh Reading Booths at Main Library

 

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has commissioned 10 units of "Explore Seat Pods", which are new, smart reading booths located at the Main Library. The brief ceremony took place on Monday, August 18, 2025.

Purpose and Features

The project is part of UNILAG's commitment to creating a modern, conducive learning environment. The new pods are designed to offer more focused and personalized spaces for students, fostering deep thinking, reading, and exploration. The University Librarian, Professor Olatokunbo Okiki, described the pods as an extension of the Library Maker–Space and stated that they will help users "study smarter, think deeper, and connect better."
