LASU Senate Approves Resumption of Activities, Exams to Start August 18

 

The Lagos State University (LASU) Senate has approved the resumption of academic and social activities following the suspension of the industrial action by the Joint Action Committee (JAC).

Key Dates and Information

▪ Resumption Date: All academic and social activities are set to resume on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

▪ Hostel Move-in: Students can return to their hostels on all campuses (Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe) starting from Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

▪ Examinations: The previously suspended 2024/2025 Second Semester Examinations will commence on Monday, August 18, 2025.

Background

The resumption follows a productive meeting between the JAC and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, which led to the call to end the strike. The university had initially suspended all activities on August 2, 2025, when the staff unions declared their industrial action. Students are advised to return promptly and prepare for their exams.
