LASU Pre-Degree Form 2026/2027 Is Out [UPDATED]

 Lagos State University Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme Admission Form is now on sale.

1.0 PREAMBLE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to the Lagos State University Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme, which will commence in October 2026.

The programme shall run for one (1) academic session, beginning in October 2026 and ending in September 2027. It is an intensive programme designed to prepare candidates with deficiencies in their O'Level results to successfully re-sit the examination and also prepare them for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for admission into the 100-level degree programmes at Lagos State University.

The programme is located at the Lagos State University, Epe Campus. To ensure the integrity of the programme, all admitted students are required to stay in the school hostels during the duration of their study.

2.0 WHY PRE-DEGREE STUDIES (PDS)?

Candidates who sit at home to write JAMB may struggle for admission in the general admission process, but PDS students who pass their JAMB will secure admission on the PDS quota provided by Lagos State University.

2.1 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

▪ Candidates must have credit passes in at least three (3) subjects (i.e. any of Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies (CRS), Islamic Religious Studies (IRS), and Accounting) in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, GCE or NECO at not more than two (2) sittings.

▪ Candidates who meet the admission requirements will be invited for a written qualifying examination.

The subjects to be offered are:

▪ Mathematics

▪ English Language

▪ Physics

▪ Chemistry

▪ Biology

▪ Government

▪ Economics

▪ Literature in English

▪ Christian Religious Studies (CRS)

▪ Islamic Religious Studies (IRS)

▪ Accounting

3.0 CRITERIA FOR TRANSITING TO 100-LEVEL

For transition to 100-level, each candidate is expected to sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and also obtain the minimum JAMB cut-off mark for university admission, as well as comply with the university screening test as may be prescribed.

In addition, all candidates with deficiencies in their O'Level results are to register for WAEC and/or NECO, and are expected to pass all the relevant deficient subjects.

Successful candidates are eligible to be allocated to the 100-level courses of related Faculties/Schools/College:

▪ Engineering

▪ Science

▪ Management Sciences

▪ Education

▪ Social Sciences

▪ Law

▪ Agriculture

▪ Transport

▪ Mass Communication

▪ Nursing

▪ Dentistry

▪ College of Medicine

at the end of the programme.

THE CURRENT PERFORMANCE

In spite of the generally low rate of performance in the 2026 UTME examination, the PDS recorded very significant success. The performance of the current Pre-Degree candidates in the 2026 UTME is proof that their exposure to rigorous teaching and CBT practice was responsible for tremendous success both in quality and quantity.

▪ Ninety per cent scored 200 and above.

▪ A handful scored above 300.

4.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION

ONLINE PAYMENT

▪ Prospective candidates should visit www.lasu.edu.ng and select MAKE PAYMENT from the drop-down list at the top to make the required payment of Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15,000.00) only for the 2026/2027 LASU Pre-Degree Studies.

▪ After payment, candidates should proceed to register online.

5.0 CLOSING DATE

Six (6) weeks from the date of this publication.

6.0 DATE FOR QUALIFYING EXAMINATION AND INTERVIEW

The date for the Qualifying Examination and Interview for successful candidates for the 2026/2027 Calendar Year will be announced later.
