Oyo State College of Nursing & Midwifery, Eleyele 2025/2026 Admission Form

Oyo State College of Nursing & Midwifery - Basic Midwifery Admission 2025/2026

Oyo State College of Nursing & Midwifery

Basic Midwifery Admission 2025/2026

Your comprehensive guide to applying for the Basic Midwifery program.

What’s This All About?

Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery (OYSCONME) has officially opened the admission form for their Basic Midwifery program for the 2025/2026 academic year. If you aspire to become a midwife – someone who helps care for pregnant women and babies – this is your chance. This program is distinct from general nursing, focusing more on hands-on experience with childbirth and related care.

"This is not the same as regular nursing. It’s more focused. More hands-on with childbirth and stuff like that."

Important Dates You Should Know

To ensure you don't miss any crucial deadlines, here is a clear table of important dates:

What’s Happening Date
Form Starts Selling June 15, 2025
Form Sales Closes September 5, 2025
Screening (like an entrance test) Sept 16 to Sept 18, 2025
School Resumes October 6, 2025

"So, yes. You still have time. But please… don’t wait till the last week. Things get messy when you’re rushing."

What Is Basic Midwifery?

It’s a 3-year course focused on the care of mothers and newborn babies. You'll undergo rigorous practical training. Upon successful completion, you will write final exams, and if you pass, you become a Registered Midwife (RM) under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. It’s a serious and respected profession.

“Some people say, ‘Ah, midwifery is only for women.’ But honestly? Men can do it too. It’s not common, but it happens.”

The program officially starts in October 2025, but the admission and registration process commences much earlier, as detailed above.

Who Can Apply? (Requirements)

This is a crucial section where many applicants get confused. Please review these requirements carefully:

  • You MUST have five credits in these subjects:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Biology
  • The credits must be from WAEC or NECO or GCE. Do NOT mix results from different examination bodies.
  • You can combine two sittings, but only from the same examination body.
  • You must be at least 17 years old by the time school starts (October 6, 2025).

“Hmm… My cousin had all credits but in WAEC and NECO combined. She wasn’t allowed. So, don’t try to mix them.”

How Much Is the Form?

The official price for the admission form is N20,500 (Twenty Thousand, Five Hundred Naira). This is the official price, and you should not pay more.

“Just… don’t. The school doesn’t do helpers. If someone asks for transfer to Palmpay or Opay or Moniepoint… run.”

How to Buy the Form (Easy Steps)

You will need a phone or computer with internet access and an ATM card. If you don’t have a card, consider asking a parent or older sibling for assistance.

  1. Go to this link: https://oysconme.edu.ng/admission/appform
  2. Create an account. Use your real name, not a nickname. Ensure the email and phone number are your own or at least unique to you.
  3. After registering, you’ll be signed in automatically. Click the "pay" button. This will redirect you to a secure payment page.
  4. Enter your ATM card details.
  5. Wait briefly for the payment to process. If successful, the system will provide you with a **registration number and a PIN**. Write this down somewhere safe, or better yet, print the page.
  6. Go to the designated page (usually linked after payment) to complete your application form using the generated registration number and PIN.
  7. After you finish everything, print your photocard. You will need this crucial document for the screening exercise.

What If It’s Too Hard?

Honestly, the online application can be confusing the first time. If you find it too challenging, you can visit the **College ICT Centre at Eleyele, Ibadan**. Bring your ATM card, and the staff there can help you register.

"It’s better to go there in the morning. Less crowd. Less stress."

Common Mistakes People Make

Be aware of these common pitfalls to avoid issues during your application:

  • Using someone else’s email or phone number – you might get locked out.
  • Typing names wrongly (spelling mistakes) – this can cause discrepancies with your WAEC/NECO results.
  • Mixing exam types – remember, no combining WAEC and NECO.
  • Forgetting the registration PIN – this information is vital.
  • Not printing the photocard – you won't be allowed into the screening without it.

Quick Advice (From Someone Who’s Been There)

  • Don’t rush the process.
  • Use a laptop if possible; phone screens can sometimes hide important error messages.
  • Screenshot everything as you proceed.
  • Talk to someone who has applied before; they might know unofficial tips.

“When I was applying, I almost paid into the wrong account. Thankfully, I called the school number and they said ‘NO, we don’t use that.’”

Screening: What Happens Next?

After you apply, you will be called for a screening exercise, which is an entrance test. It will take place from **September 16 to September 18, 2025**. You will need to bring:

  • Your printed photocard.
  • Original credentials (WAEC/NECO result, birth certificate, etc.).
  • Possibly passport photos (they usually ask).

Dress neatly, be early, and maintain a respectful attitude. Some staff can be strict.

When Does School Actually Start?

Classes are scheduled to begin on **October 6, 2025**, but the "real" course content typically kicks off by April 2026. The initial period will likely involve orientation, registration, hostel arrangements, and medical checks, which is why early resumption is required.

Real Contacts Only (No Scams)

If you are unsure about anything, always contact the school directly using their official channels. Avoid messaging random social media pages for information.

  • Email: info@oysconme.edu.ng
  • Phone 1: 09138766976
  • Phone 2: 08156903399
  • Address: Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Eleyele, Ibadan. PMB 5081.

“Please. Don’t message random Facebook pages for info. It’s risky.”

Should You Even Apply?

Consider applying if:

  • You genuinely enjoy taking care of people, especially women and children.
  • You are prepared to commit to three years of hard work and rigorous training.
  • You meet all the required academic and age qualifications.

If you meet these criteria, then yes, go for it! Just make sure you follow every step correctly. And if it doesn’t work out this year, it’s okay. You can always try again or explore other opportunities.
