Clifford University (CLU) post UTME screening exercise application form for the 2026/2027 academic session is now on sale.

Application is hereby invited into various degree programmes of Clifford University Owerrinta, Abia State for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

CANDIDATES ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

To be eligible for admission into any programme, a candidate must possess five (5) credit passes in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB (GCE, SSCE) or equivalent examinations at not more than two sittings.

TRANSFER / DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSIONS

Candidates with A’Level and University diploma certificates may be admitted into 200 Level for relevant undergraduate programmes.

▪ Students in this category are expected to have obtained minimum pass grades in at least two relevant subjects at the Higher School Certificate (HSC), JUPEB, General Certificate of Education (GCE A’Level) or equivalent.

▪ Other relevant Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates from institutions recognized by Clifford University Senate in line with applicable laws in Nigeria may be considered for admission.

▪ Complete transcript or Statement of Result must be submitted by all Direct Entry students before admission.

▪ The Senate of Clifford University reserves the right to determine admission cumulative points/cut-off mark for Direct Entry applicants.

▪ All candidates that satisfy the requirements above will equally be required to undergo a screening test conducted by Clifford University except those coming through JUPEB.

▪ All admitted Direct Entry students are required to take the Clifford University prescribed General Studies Courses.

▪ While commensurate credits may be given for specific courses passed in any recognized diploma or certificate examinations, no Direct Entry candidate is considered for whole session exemptions by University Academic policy.

DEGREE PROGRAMMES, REQUIREMENTS AND UTME SUBJECT COMBINATIONS

FACULTY OF HUMANITIES [B.A. (HONS.)]

CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS STUDIES

▪ Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes in Christian Religious Studies/Religious Studies and any other Arts subject.

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes in English Language, CRK and three other relevant subjects at not more than two sittings.

▪ UTME Subjects:
English Language, Christian Religious Knowledge and any other two related Arts subjects.

▪ Special Consideration:
Candidates require at least a credit in Mathematics.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

▪ Direct Entry:
i. Two ‘A’ Level passes in Literature in English and one other Arts subject
ii. NCE (Merit) in English Language
iii. OND in relevant field not below Upper Credit
iv. HND in relevant field not below Lower Credit

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes in Literature in English and English Language, one other Arts subject and any other two or three subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Sciences.

▪ UTME Subjects:
English Language, Literature in English, one other Arts subject and another Arts or Social Science subject.

▪ Special Consideration:
Candidates require at least a credit in Mathematics.

ENGLISH LITERATURE

▪ Direct Entry:
i. Two ‘A’ Level passes in Literature in English and one other Arts subject
ii. NCE (Merit) in English Language or relevant discipline
iii. OND in relevant field not below Upper Credit
iv. HND in relevant field not below Lower Credit

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes in Literature in English, English Language and three other subjects, two of which must be Arts subjects.

▪ UTME Subjects:
English Language, Literature in English, one other Arts subject and another Arts or Social Science subject.

▪ Special Consideration:
Candidates require at least a credit in Mathematics.

HISTORY AND DIPLOMATIC STUDIES

▪ Direct Entry:
i. Diploma in History or related discipline with at least Merit
ii. GCE A’Level with minimum of two subjects including History or Government
iii. NCE with Merit in at least two subjects including History or Government
iv. OND (Upper Credit) in relevant disciplines
v. JUPEB graduates of Clifford University or other JUPEB affiliated institutions

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes including English Language and History/Government and any three of Mathematics, CRK, French, Economics, Geography or any Arts subject.

▪ UTME Subjects:
Any three of English Language, History/Government, Christian Religious Studies, Literature in English, Economics, Music, Theatre Arts.

FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES [B.SC. (HONS.)]

ACCOUNTING

▪ Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes in Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Mathematics or Geography; or OND/HND/Professional qualification in Accounting.

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.

▪ UTME Subjects:
English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any related Arts or Social Science subject.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

▪ Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes in Economics, Accounts, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics; or OND/HND in relevant disciplines.

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.

▪ UTME Subjects:
English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any related Arts or Social Science subject.

PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

▪ Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes in Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics.

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes including English Language, Economics, Government and one trade subject.

▪ UTME Subjects:
Government, Economics and any other subject.

ECONOMICS

▪ Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes in Economics and one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Accounting, Business Management, History or Government.

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.

▪ UTME Subjects:
English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other related subject.

BANKING AND FINANCE

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes in English, Mathematics, Economics, one Science subject plus one of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography or Statistics.

▪ UTME Subjects:
Mathematics, Economics and one other subject.

MARKETING

▪ Same requirements as Banking and Finance.

POLITICAL SCIENCE

▪ Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes including Government or History.

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes including Government or History, English Language and three other subjects, plus at least a pass in Mathematics.

▪ UTME Subjects:
English Language, Government or History plus two other related Social Science/Arts subjects.

MASS COMMUNICATION

▪ Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes in Literature in English and one other Arts subject.

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes including English Language, Literature in English, Mathematics and one Science subject.

▪ UTME Subjects:
Literature in English, one other Arts subject and another Arts or Social Science subject.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

▪ Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes in Government and History.

▪ O’Level:
Five credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, one Science subject, Government or History and two other subjects.

▪ UTME Subjects:
Government or History plus two other Social Science/Arts subjects.

SOCIAL JUSTICE

▪ Available under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences.

FACULTY OF SCIENCE

FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES

Available programmes include:

▪ Medical Laboratory Science

NURSING SCIENCE

▪ O’Level:
Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry at not more than two sittings.

▪ Minimum JAMB score of 180 in addition to screening test at the University ICT Hall immediately application is completed.

▪ UTME Subjects:
Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE

▪ O’Level:
Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings.

▪ UTME Subjects:
Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology.

FACULTY OF EDUCATION

Available programmes include:

▪ Industrial Relations and Personnel Management Education

FACULTY OF LAW [(LL.B)]

LAW

▪ O’Level:
Five credits at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English and any other relevant subjects.

▪ UTME Subjects:
English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English and any other Arts or Social Science subject.

▪ Candidates must also meet the acceptable performance level in JAMB and Clifford University Post-UTME screening.

Any candidate who fails to successfully submit application online automatically loses the chance of being considered for admission.

▪ Enter your JAMB Registration Number and other required details

▪ Choose your Username and Password

▪ Proceed with completion of the application form

▪ Correctly enter your JAMB score, personal details and O’Level results

▪ Select your first and second choice of course within the institution

▪ Tick the declaration box appropriately

▪ Submit your application

▪ Print out your acknowledgement slip

▪ Await further communication from the University
