Ondo Final Year Student Commits Suicide

 

A 28-year-old final-year student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), Precious Arobo, has reportedly died by suicide due to a troubled relationship. His body was discovered hanging in a bush near his home.

Arobo left a suicide note hinting at emotional distress linked to his relationship. His family has since buried him. Friends and colleagues described him as a kind and well-loved individual.

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation has begun to determine the true cause. The police report indicates the incident occurred on June 18, 2025, and Arobo's body was found with a rope around his neck. His body was taken to the FMC morgue for preservation and autopsy.

This event follows a similar case less than a year ago involving Modupe Ayandare, a female student from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), who also reportedly died by suicide, leaving a note behind.
